Nguni Dreaming

Thanks to an article in "The Natal Witness" by Julia Denny-Dimitriou on Nguni cattle I was at last inspired to make some new beads- a set of "Nguni Dreaming" beads and they have really turned out beautifully. I made my first Nguni bead some months ago when my grandson Liam made me some frit and when I used it we decided that it looked just like the beautiful markings on Nguni cattle and then Julia's article set me off.

new necklace

This necklace is made from black, ivory and sage green beads and was the result of an exercise prompted by a chapter in Corina Tettingers book "Passing the Flame" on distortion - I think the result is lovely - in fact the first person to see it bought it!
